A gazette In a simple words are public journal, a newspaper of record issued by state government. And one can published their Name change / Date of birthchange / Change of religion.
Previously Gazette was applied in Gazette office of the States with physical form & documents used to stand in a long queues to get it and later Needed to Check frequently by visiting off or Calling them.
But Now Government has Made it Online to Cut short all this Issues. Now we can Apply Gazette from Home / Office or Anywhere & later Can Check the Status as well. And We also get SMS on Mobile on Approval of Gazette .
There are 2 types of Gazette : General & Takal Options ( Tatkal is costlier Than General )
General Gazette will Be done in 90 Days & Tatkal in 30 Days
Lets Start with the documents need to be furnished for Name change for Major / Minor
For Major ( Mandatory Documents )
ID Proof : Pan card or Passport or Driving Licence or Aadhar Card or Voters Id
Address proof : Ration Card or Aadhar Card or Electricity Bill
Photo : One Passport Size Photo
Application Form : Duly Signed Application Form with all details & reason forName change
Marriage certificate ( if Any for Female after Marriage )
Affidavit ( If Any Made for any reasons like Adoptions etc )
Divorce papers ( Incase of Divorce ) etc
For Minor below 18 years (Mandatory Documents)
ID Proof: Aadhar card or School id or Aadhar Card
Address Proof: Ration card or Aadhar Card
Age Proof: Birth Certificate or School LC or Bonafide
Photo: One Passport Size Photo
Application Form : Duly Signed By Minor if possible and parents or Guardians
Note : As its a Online process all the documents need to be in JPEG format with File size <500 kb
- Need to Make a Login Id
- Log in with user Name & Password
- Fill in All the correct Mandatory details like Old name & new Name / Reason for Name Change / date of Birth , Mobile No & Email Id / Address Etc.
- Attach All the Documents ( ID proof / Address Proof / Photo & Application Form ) & Continue
- Select The payment options ( Net Banking / Credit card / Debit card etc)
- After payment restore the Acknowledgement Details for Further reference
Generally Its a very Simple Process still there are Many consultants who do in your behalf very professionally and they charge some nominal charges .
