The day began like any other ordinary day at the Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School, at Zirad. But the day became very special very soon! You might be wondering why the day became “special”! In fact the day turned into a special day as the entire village and the school children of Raigad Zila Parishad primary school experienced something special. The day began like the other school days but when midday arrived the entire scenario changed! The schoolyard was filled with excitement, joy, and laughter from the students and there was a hint of pride among them as well.

Varun Hiremath is a celebrated finance expert and is also one of the most active philanthropists of India. He is the Founder of The Hiremath Family Foundation, a non-profit organization which is dedicated to empower the poor and underprivileged people of rural India. At Raigad Zilla Parishad primary school, Zirad, a small yet impactful initiative was taken on that day by Varun Hiremath which was a part of the Hiremath Family Foundation’s Social Responsibility Initiative. In that event the Hiremath Family Foundation, which is led by Varun Hiremath, gifted a new pair of shoes to the poor school children of Raigad Zila Parishad primary School. It may sound very small but its impact was massive, both practically and mentally especially for the young school children of Raigad Zila Parishad primary school. The whole event took place under the strong and inspirational leadership of Varun Hiremath. Vaun Hiremath personally distributed the shoes, and spent time with the students. He is a brilliant man who knows that students are the future of the nation, so he listened to them very carefully and gave them important advice, and in this way all these happenings went far beyond the act of just handing over a new pair of shoes to the school children.

The Indian economy is growing very fast, but if we look into the practical scenario we will have to be disappointed, know why? Because the truth is that in rural parts of India many children still walk barefoot. Those are the rural and underprivileged children of our country who are often overlooked by the system. These unfortunate but bright children walk long distances through the dusty, muddy rough roads to go to schools, often without proper footwear or in some parts barefoot, which is very hard to believe!

Many guys and leaders noticed it but the scenario didn't change. When Varun Hiremath noticed this he took immediate action through the Hiremath Family Foundation. He gifted a new pair of shoes to each and every school child of Raigad Zila Parishad primary school. When the young students received the brand new pair of shoes they became very happy and excited. The new pair of shoes gave the poor and underprivileged schoolchildren more than just comfort. It offered them confidence, a sense of safety, and the reassurance that someone genuinely cares about them.

“When children feel secure, they move forward with confidence,” -Said Varun Hiremath while interacting with the school students at Raigad Zila Parishad primary school. He also said that- “If something this simple can make their everyday life easier, then it’s something we should all step up to do.”

A Moment Shared by the Whole Village:

The program saw the participation of key community leaders and well wishers, including:

• Sarpanch Chotam Sheth
• Former Sarpanch Smt. Darshana Bhoir
• Former Deputy Sarpanch Mahesh Mane
• Teachers and staff of the Zirad Primary School
• Parents and villagers who gathered in large numbers

While talking on behalf of the entire village, the Sarpanch, Chotam Sheth, expressed his gratitude to Varun Hiremath and The Hiremath Family Foundation in a meaningful manner. The Sarpanch, Chotam Sheth, Said: “This thoughtful gesture means a great deal to our children and families. It brings joy into our homes and encourages students to attend school with pride.”

The moment became more beautiful as the teachers described how this initiative made the schoolchildren happy and confident when they wore the new pair of shoes. Joys glowed on the faces of some young students who wore footwears for the first time in their life! It was a small but life-changing initiative which made the students confident and happy.

The children were so happy after receiving the gift from Varun Hiremath that they started running across the school grounds with bright smiles on their faces, and they were showing them off.

One of the teachers of Raigad Zila Parishad primary school said, “The happiness was real and immediate.” He also added that, “The Hiremath Family Foundation has helped our school before. Today’s support strengthens that bond even further.”

They have also supplied essential learning materials to the poor and underprivileged rural schoolchildren. Not only that, but the Hiremath Family Foundation has supplied them with sports equipment and hygiene supplies. All these initiatives have immensely helped to improve the overall basic infrastructure.

Varun Hiramath is a futurist; his works are not over, but this is a movement that has just started, and he is planning to reach more and more remote villages of India in 2026, where the rural and underserved children are facing challenges each and every day for minimum livelihood.

A Memory That Will Last:

The program was approaching its end at Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School in Zirad; all the schoolchildren stood proudly and took careful steps in their new shoes. It was a beautiful moment; many schoolchildren never got a chance to wear footwear due to poverty, and now they had some, and it made them happy and confident. The schoolchildren were so happy that their laughter filled the air. This was a small initiative but left a huge impact on the mindsets of the young schoolchildren, and this initiative will be preserved in the memories of those schoolchildren of Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School as a powerful memory, and when they grow up and become self-reliant and financially independent, they will share this story with the future generation.

One young student at Raigad Zilla Parishad Primary School smiled and said, “These shoes are from Varun Sir. I’ll wear them to school every day.”
